Dr. Carey Watt delivered a public lecture on Thursday, October 4, 2018 titled “The Strongman and the Apple: a local and global history of the Sandow apple and Sandow Farm in Keswick Ridge, N.B. since 1886″.
Watt’s talk explored questions like could the Sandow apple grown at Sandow Farm in Keswick Ridge, N.B. have a bigger national and global backstory? How did the apple get its name? Could it be connected to the world-famous strongman Eugen Sandow (1867-1925)? If so, why?
